This past weekend we went to Kings Dominion for the first time in 10 years! We had gone in 2003 which was the summer before Bryan's accident and had not been back. He has mentioned it the past few summers but I was always to worried. Anyway we finally went and we had and it was so much fun.
Of course we would go on the day it was in the high 90's with really no shade all day and basically were sweating like crazy from the time we got out the truck but we still had a great day just lots of water consumed. (Especially me since I am not like B and I work inside).
I told B when we got there it was probably the first time that it was just the two of us doing something together for more than a couple hours since we went to the concert back at the beginning of the year (March maybe?). We have gone to do stuff but normally it's to meet his family, my family or so on so not just me and B time. This was just us all day for some much needed time together. He is out of town so often that I hardly see him. Even when he is home is getting ready to go back so obviously not much time to spend together.
That was on the Shockwave and there was no way I was getting on it but I did get a good picture of him:)
The pics on the left I did get on the one on the right no way. I am petrified of heights and I was proud of myself for the roller coasters that I did get on which was more than I thought I would have gotten on. Of course part of that was B saying it wasn't that bad....which was a lie to get me on them lol.
top left- I had to take pictures of my future cards right? haha
top right- Bryan got Fried Oreos he said they were delicious... I will take his word for it call me crazy but I am not an oreo fan.
bottom left- lunch (ridiculously priced)
bottom right- Bryan found out they had Karaoke and that meant he just had to get on stage and sing. He really did an amazing job but then again he always does.
I am so proud of the above pic my score is the right one... yup I beat B. (This never happens and had to be documented for future reference)
Once it got dark they had this display in one section where the entire pathway was lit in LED lights and changed to the music. It was GORGEOUS! Actually one of my favorite things from the day.
Fireworks right before they closed.
So basically it was disgustingly hot, I got super sick on the way home (combination from a headache and the heat in my opinion), and walked until my legs fell like they were gonna fall of but it was worth every minute. We were worry free, on no type of schedule and just the two of us and was one of the best days we have had in a long time. Hopefully we can do something like this again soon and actually spend some quality time together.
